As an office worker try and count how many hours you spend sit on your behind, it can some times work into double figures if you are a workaholic or extend your work day into your home life. I know I can spend an unimaginable amount of time sitting in one position for several hours on end and this can take its toll on my back, neck, arms and buttocks.
While the rich and famous might have the space for a thirty-seating cinema in their basement, the rest of us do not. A handful of armchairs would neatly achieve the same objective, though.
The swivel armchair is a great invention that adds an element of comfort to our homes or workplaces. Would you believe that the designer of this wonderfully functional piece of furniture was Thomas Jefferson the third president of the U.S.? He is actually known for creating various different devices that now make our lives a little easier.
Lots of people really do not think of the Adirondack as being a high back armchair, but that is what it really is! Perfect for usage outdoors or even with antique decors, this particular design was first designed in the early 20th century and known as a plank chair. These are created using eleven wooden planks, and also have lower seating, plentiful arm rests along with a sloped back. Cutting-edge versions are manufactured from numerous kinds of wood, and you may also find them manufactured from plastic material (although they are not as comfy, or as rustic, as the timber kinds).
